Summary

This project involved the development of a Natural Gas Liquids Extraction (NGLE) unit to support Oman’s petrochemical sector by providing high-purity feedstock. The facility included advanced separation, treatment, and utility systems to ensure continuous and efficient operation.

Challanges

The complexity of integrating NGLE extraction processes with existing infrastructure posed a significant challenge. Achieving high reliability while minimizing production losses required a robust availability and maintainability strategy. Additionally, meeting stringent safety and environmental regulations added another layer of complexity.

Solution

  • Developed reliability models using Reliability Block Diagrams (RBDs) to evaluate system performance under different operational scenarios.

  • Conducted RAM analysis to optimize plant availability, identifying equipment with high failure risks.

  • Facilitated FMECA workshops with engineering teams to prioritize maintenance and improve system resilience.

  • Ensured compliance with international reliability standards such as ISO 14224 and IEC 61508 for process safety and operational reliability.
